Cleantech Content is a trading style of Electric Car Home Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 12046339. Our registered office is Garswood, Warnford, Southampton, Hampshire, England, SO32 3LH.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information when you visit our website, contact us, book a call, work with us, or use an interactive tool that we operate. It also explains your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

Electric Car Home Ltd, trading as Cleantech Content, is the data controller for personal information covered by this Privacy Policy unless we tell you otherwise.

For some interactive tools created for clients, the client will determine why and how personal information is used. In those circumstances, the client will normally be the data controller and we may act as its data processor. The client’s privacy notice will then apply to the end user’s information.

2. The information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Contact and identity information

Your name, email address, telephone number, job title, organisation and any information you include in an enquiry, contact form or discovery-call booking.

Client and project information

Information needed to discuss, scope and deliver our services. This may include business information, project briefs, product or service data, website content, brand materials, calculation inputs, technical requirements, user journeys, feedback and correspondence.

Tool-use information

When we act as controller for an interactive tool, the notice displayed with that tool will list the categories it collects. Depending on the tool, these may include postcode or address information, property characteristics, energy use or bill information, tariffs and costs, technology or vehicle details, user preferences, contact details, calculated outputs, recommendations and technical records.

Unless clearly stated, interactive-tool results are not intended to identify a person. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into a tool unless the tool specifically requests it and explains why it is needed.

Transaction and administration information

Information relating to proposals, contracts, invoices, payments and our business relationship with you. We do not normally receive or store complete payment-card details.

Website and technical information

Information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring page, approximate location derived from an IP address, form activity and diagnostic or security records. This may be collected through server logs, cookies or similar technologies.

Communications

Messages, meeting notes, call details, feedback and other correspondence exchanged with us.

We do not normally ask for special-category personal information, such as health, biometric, religious or political information. Please do not provide it unless it is necessary and we have agreed an appropriate way to handle it.

Information you must provide

The Website contact form currently requires a name, organisation, email address, telephone number and message so that we can identify and respond to the enquiry. If required information is not provided, the form cannot be submitted. A booking service may also identify mandatory and optional fields before submission.

Information requested for a Proposal or contract is not usually required by statute, but specified identity, scope, contact and billing information may be contractually necessary for us to quote, enter into a contract, invoice or deliver the services. A tool will identify mandatory inputs needed to calculate a result; optional inputs may be left blank, although the result may then be unavailable or less tailored.

3. How we obtain information

We collect information:

• Directly from you when you contact us, complete a form, book a call, enter into a contract or supply project materials.

• Automatically when you visit our website or use a tool we operate.

• From a client where we provide a tool or service on that client’s behalf.

• From service providers used to operate our website, forms, booking system, email, hosting and business systems.

• From company websites, professional profiles such as LinkedIn, Companies House, relevant industry directories, referrals and other public business sources where relevant to business development, due diligence or project delivery.

If you provide personal information about another person, you must have the right to do so and should direct that person to the relevant privacy information.

Where we obtain personal information from another source and intend to use it as controller, we provide the required privacy information by our first communication with the person, before a first disclosure, or within one month, whichever occurs first, unless a documented legal exemption applies.

4. How and why we use information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

To respond to enquiries, bookings and prepare proposals

We use contact details and information about your requirements to respond, arrange calls through Cal.com, assess fit, prepare recommendations and take steps towards a possible contract.

Lawful basis: where you are a sole trader or other individual contracting personally, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where you represent a company or other organisation, our legitimate interest in responding to its enquiry and developing a business relationship.

To provide and manage our services

We use client and project information to research, design, build, test, deliver, maintain and support interactive tools, consultancy, written content, video scripts and related customer journeys.

Lawful basis: where you contract with us personally, performance of our contract. Where you act for a corporate Client, our legitimate interest in delivering and administering the Services contracted by that Client. Legal obligations also apply to specified accounting and company records.

To operate a Cleantech Content-controlled interactive tool

If we determine the purpose and means of a tool’s processing, its tool-specific notice will identify Electric Car Home Ltd as controller, list the information collected, explain who receives an enquiry, give the applicable retention period and state the lawful basis for each purpose. We use essential technical records for our legitimate interest in providing, securing and diagnosing that tool. We use non-essential analytics only with consent where consent is required.

If a tool passes an enquiry to another organisation, that transfer and the receiving organisation will be identified before the user submits the enquiry.

To communicate with clients and business contacts

We use contact details and correspondence to manage projects, provide service messages, request feedback and maintain professional relationships.

Lawful basis: where you contract with us personally, performance of our contract. Where you act for a corporate Client, our legitimate interest in managing that business relationship.

To administer our business

We use information for invoicing, accounting, record keeping, insurance, legal claims, supplier management and compliance with legal or regulatory obligations.

Lawful basis: performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business.

To operate, secure and improve our website and services

We may use technical and usage information to maintain functionality, prevent misuse, investigate faults, understand how services are used and improve performance and user experience.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving our website and services, and consent where required for non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

Business development and direct marketing

We may use business contact information from existing relationships, referrals and the public business sources listed in section 3 to contact companies and other corporate subscribers about relevant Cleantech Content services. Our UK GDPR lawful basis is our legitimate interest in developing relevant business relationships. We provide a simple opt-out in the communication or on request.

For email or text marketing to an individual subscriber, including a sole trader or certain partnerships, we use consent unless the PECR “soft opt-in” applies. The soft opt-in is used only where we obtained the details during a sale or genuine negotiation for a sale, market our own similar services and offered an opt-out when the details were collected and in every later message. UK GDPR legitimate interests alone are not treated as permission to send electronic marketing where PECR requires consent.

We will not use your information for a materially different purpose without providing appropriate information and, where required, obtaining consent.

5. Interactive tools created for clients

Every client-branded or client-operated tool that processes personal information must make a definite, tool-specific allocation of privacy roles before processing begins:

• The tool notice must identify the actual controller and state whether Cleantech Content is its processor, a separate controller or a joint controller for each purpose.

• It must list the information collected, generated outputs or inferences, recipients of enquiries and technical data, lawful bases and retention periods.

• Where the Client determines the purposes and means, the Client is controller and its privacy notice applies. Cleantech Content processes information only on the Client’s documented instructions.

• Whenever Cleantech Content acts as a processor, a written controller–processor agreement containing the terms required by data-protection law must be in place before processing begins.

• If Cleantech Content independently determines a purpose, we act as controller for that purpose and provide the relevant privacy information at the point of collection.

If you have a question about information submitted to a client’s tool, contact the organisation named on that tool in the first instance.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information.

We may share information where necessary with:

• Website, hosting, form, booking, email, cloud-storage, analytics and IT service providers.

• Professional advisers such as accountants, insurers, solicitors and auditors.

• Carefully selected contractors or production partners involved in delivering an agreed service, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

• A client for whom we operate an interactive tool, where an end user asks to be contacted or the tool is configured to provide information to that client.

• Public authorities, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

• A purchaser, investor or successor if our business or its assets are reorganised, sold or transferred, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Our website is hosted and analysed through Framer. The Contact page embeds Cal.com for discovery-call booking. Because the Cal.com embed loads as part of that page, Cal.com receives technical connection information such as an IP address and device/browser information and may use cookies or similar technologies. Cal.com also receives the information entered when a booking is made. We determine that these services are embedded or used and remain responsible for the disclosures and technologies we initiate; each provider also publishes privacy information about its own processing.

7. International transfers

Framer operates from the European Economic Area and uses international infrastructure. Cal.com is a United States service, and its embedded scheduling service may also connect to service providers in the United States, including an error-monitoring provider. Information processed through these services may therefore be transferred outside the United Kingdom.

We use these suppliers under their applicable contractual and data-protection terms. Where UK law requires an additional transfer safeguard for a destination that is not covered by a UK adequacy regulation, the relevant supplier arrangement must provide an appropriate safeguard, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. You can contact privacy@cleantechcontent.co.uk for the current information available to us about a particular supplier’s processing location and contractual protection, subject to necessary redactions.

8. How long we keep information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, insurance and reporting requirements.

As a general guide:

• Enquiries that do not become projects are normally retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact.

• Client contracts, project records and material correspondence are normally retained for up to six years after the end of the relevant engagement, unless a longer period is reasonably required.

• Accounting and transaction records are normally retained for at least six years from the end of the financial year to which they relate, or longer where required by law.

• Every tool-specific notice must state a period or concrete deletion criterion for inputs, outputs, enquiries, security logs and backups. Where we act as processor, we follow the retention and deletion instructions in the written controller–processor agreement.

• Business-development contact records are reviewed at least annually and are normally deleted after 24 months without meaningful engagement, unless an active relationship or another lawful reason justifies continued retention. We keep a minimal suppression record so that we respect an opt-out.

We may retain information for longer where required for a legal claim, regulatory enquiry or another lawful reason. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.

9. How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These measures may include access controls, secure service providers, appropriate authentication, backups and confidentiality obligations.

No internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we will assess it and make any notifications required by law.

10. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

• Be informed about how your personal information is used.

• Ask for access to the personal information we hold about you.

• Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

• Ask us to delete information in certain circumstances.

• Ask us to restrict how information is used in certain circumstances.

• Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.

• Receive certain information in a portable format.

• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before consent was withdrawn.

• Complain directly to Electric Car Home Ltd and to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal exemptions. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

To exercise a right or make a privacy complaint, email privacy@cleantechcontent.co.uk. We facilitate complaints, acknowledge a complaint within 30 days, investigate it without undue delay and explain the outcome. We may need additional time where permitted by law and will tell you if that applies.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

Our Website uses the following technologies:

• Framer hosting, forms and site analytics. The Website makes technical requests to Framer infrastructure, including events.framer.com. Framer may process IP address, browser and device information, page or event information, diagnostic data and server logs to deliver, secure, analyse and improve the Website. During our check on 6 August 2026, the main Contact page did not expose a Framer first-party cookie to browser JavaScript, although this does not prevent server-side logging or other technical event processing.

• Cal.com scheduling embed. The Contact page automatically loads an embedded Cal.com calendar so that visitors can view availability and book a discovery call. This means a connection is made to Cal.com when the Contact page loads, before a booking is selected. Cal.com receives technical connection information such as IP address, browser and device information and may use a secure callback cookie and browser storage for session messaging, timezone or time-display preferences, security and scheduling functionality.

• Cal.com error monitoring. The embedded calendar makes technical requests to an error-monitoring service used by Cal.com, currently Sentry. That service may receive IP address, device/browser, page, error and diagnostic information for fault detection and service security.

The storage and retention period of a Cal.com or Sentry item is controlled through their live service configuration and may change independently of this Website. Session items normally end when the relevant browser session or authentication flow ends. Browser preferences may remain until they expire, are replaced or are cleared through the browser. Provider diagnostic and server records are retained under the provider’s applicable settings and policies.

We load the Cal.com embed automatically to provide the booking functionality shown on the Contact page. This Privacy Policy explains that automatic connection; it is not intended to treat continued browsing as consent where consent is legally required. Where a cookie or similar technology is exempt from consent because it is technically necessary for a service expressly requested by the user or another PECR exemption applies, it may be used without consent. Any non-exempt technology remains subject to the consent requirements that apply under law.

You can block or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings, although doing so may prevent the embedded booking calendar from operating correctly. If you prefer not to use Cal.com, you can contact us directly at david@cleantechcontent.co.uk.

Because providers and configurations can change, we review these disclosures when the Website or embedded services change.

12. Automated outputs and decision-making

Interactive calculators and decision-support tools may generate outputs automatically from the information entered and the methodology configured for that tool. These outputs are estimates or guidance and are not intended to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.

Electric Car Home Ltd does not use personal information as controller to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects. A Client must not deploy one of our tools for eligibility, pricing, access or another legally or similarly significant automated decision unless the specific workflow, roles, logic, consequences, human-review safeguards and rights have first been documented in the relevant tool notice and contractual data-protection arrangements.

13. Children

Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact privacy@cleantechcontent.co.uk so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

14. Third-party websites and services

Our website and tools may link to or embed third-party websites and services. We do not control their privacy practices. You should read the privacy notice provided by the relevant third party before giving it personal information.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our services, technology or legal obligations. The latest version will be published on our website with a revised effective date. Material changes may also be brought to the attention of affected clients or users where appropriate.
